RCMP Using Mount Benson School for Training

The Victoria Times Colonist reported on February 23, 2009 that the school is going to be used for RCMP training...possibly with paint ball guns. A step up from the fun fair laser tag.

District Ad-hoc committee on Community Centre

The district's ad-hoc committee on making Mount Benson Elementary school a community centre has been meeting since October 2008. The ad-hoc committee was struck in response to a letter from the Wellington Action Committee (WAC) asking if they could coordinate renting/leasing the building for use as a community centre. The Wellington Neighbourhood has one representative on the committee who represents the WAC.

Tree Dedication Ceremony at Pleasant Valley

Pleasant Valley Elementary School held a lovely ceremony to introduce the new staff, students and to officially plant and bless the Tree the Mount Benson School Community walked to Pleasant Valley in June of 2008. We are honoured to have been part of such a thoughtful ceremony. (September 11, 2008)

Sports Night - 2008/2009

Wellington Action Committee is trying to rent the school to continue sports night while the school is closed. 3rd Tuesday of each month, 6:30-7:30pm. (Children must be accompanied by an adult)
