Kindergarten

Singing (mp3 - the more we get together, Tony Chestnut), movement, non-pitched percussion instruments and performance with an introduction to pitched percussion instruments.

Grade 1

Singing, movement, non-pitched percussion instruments & pitched percussion instruments such as Orff xylophones, performance.

Grade 2

Singing, movement, non-pitched & pitched percussion instruments, creative expression & composition, performance.

Grade 3

Singing, movement, non-pitched & pitched percussion instruments, creative expression & composition, performance with an introduction to recorder.

Grade 4

Recorder, singing, movement & dance, composition and performance.

Grade 5

Recorder, Soprano Ukulele (mp3 sample: Go go Rock), singing, movement & dance, composition & improvisation, performance with an introduction to Concert Band.

Grade 6 / 7 - Music Elective - Baritone Ukulele

Baritone Ukulele, singing, composition & improvisation, integrating guitar & performance

2007/2008 Band

For the 2007/2008 school year 100% of Grade 6 & 7 students elected to take Band as their music elective. As a result the school is running two seperate band classes to allow for more student interaction; Grade 6 Beginner Band, and Grade 7 Band. For some practices and concerts the two classes will be brought together to perform as a full band.

Choir

Choir is offered as an extra-cirricular activity to interested students every Tuesday in the Music room at lunch. In addition to singing and learning new songs, students will get the opportunity to experience performances both in and out of the school.
