While discussing priorities for PAC project funding, Mount Benson School Parents decided that it was important to send a donation to each school which is recieving our students.

Amount

While it was difficult to determine how much to send to each school, it was decided we would send at least enough money to offset the direct access funding which will be lost due to the school closure. Direct Access funding is $20 per child, and the Mount Benson PAC decided to send $30 per child to each receiving elementary school.

Schools Receiving our Students

Because Mount Benson elementary had no nearby school for children to attend, parents were faced with driving their children to school. This lack of a neighbourhood school result in Mount Benson's k-6 children scattering amongst 14 different elementary schools. In recent years Mount Benson's student population had changed very little, with many classes seeing virtual no change from year to year.
