2006 Census Data Clearly shows that Diver Lake is the most family oriented area of Nanaimo.
Diver Lake has the highest proportion of children 0-4, 4-9, 0-9, 0-14 and second highest 10-14.

City Growth

City of Nanaimo Growth is still increasing. Growth an inmigration has greatly reduced the enrolment decline in many areas. The enrolment decline has already reveresed in the Mount Benson Catchment, with even the school district projecting an increase in enrollment.

Site Size

School site size is usually considered of fundamental importance in school planning. SD68 proposals involve building much larger schools on sites which do not meet provincial guidelines, and which are far smaller than the North American norm.
