Registration - 2008/2008 School Year

Registration is open for the 2008/2009 school year. Important dates are:

• March 28, 2008: Out-of-catchment registration deadline.
• June 15, 2008: In-catchment registration deadline.

Kindergarten and New Grade 1-7 Students

Children who will be five years of age before January 1, 2009, may start Kindergarten in September 2008. When registering please bring your child's birth certificate.

If you live in Mount Benson's catchment, you must register by June 15, 2008 to obtain an assured space.

If you live outside of Mount Benson's catchment-area and wish for your child to attend Mount Benson Elementary, you must register by Friday, March 28, 2008.

"Out-of-catchment" and late "in-catchment" registrations will be approved on a first-come, first serve basis after June 15, 2008.

Neighbourhood Info

According to the 2006 National Census, the Diver Lake area of the Wellington Neighbourhood has the highest proportion of children 0-5 and 5-10 in all of Nanaimo. Space may be limited in some grades so parents are advised to register as early as possible to ensure space is available (Registering early also helps the school to plan staffing and grade configurations.

Returning Students

Students who are currently enrolled at Mount Benson School in grades K-6 will automatically be re-enrolled for the 2008/2009 school year.

Out of district students and International students must confirm their registration for next year by submitting a form to the school by Friday, March 28, 2008.
